Another Rescue Trip to UK (via Brussels)
In a few days time (actually on the 1st of October) we are flying again to take probably about 10 Rescue Dogs out of Cyprus for a better life in the UK.
I am getting used to get up at 1 am in the morning, to leave Protaras (near Paralimni) at about 2 am to be at the Airport around 3 am to meet Rachel and Alex from Alex Farm of Strays.
To be honest I do not know too much about Alex Farm of Strays as they are on the other Side of the Island of Cyprus and a bit far away from us, but I suspect they do amazing work similar to other Shelters (and there are MANY of them in Cyprus!!)
The Rescue Dogs(or Cats) we take usually do not have a chance of Survival in Cyprus and have found new forever Homes in the UK or elsewhere where other Animal Lovers have given them a Chance to live again.
We will be flying them as Flight-parents to Brussels where we will meed up with Valerie from 101 PetExpress who will take them in their specially fitted out Animal Transport Van to the UK.
We are just a small Cog in the Wheel of Animal Rescue from Cyprus and we think we have the easiest Part.
Others clean out Cages, walk the Dogs, look after sick Cats, pay the Vet Bills, do the Airport Runs, in some Cases bury those who did not make it.
Be that as it may, we are happy to help in some small way.
Just don’t let it rain in Brussels again, please?? :)
